In the absence of being certified in a peer review, this study by researchers at the University of Waterloo&#8217;s Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences &#8220;<b>demonstrates a deficient ability of HEK293 cells to respond only to SARS-CoV-2 genes. Furthermore, our results indicate that CBD can prepare components of the innate immune system, which <b>increases readiness to respond to viral infection<\/b> without activating apoptosis and, therefore, its potential in prophylaxis could be studied. \u201d<\/div>\n<p>In this curious experiment, they exposed kidney cells to COVID genes along with cannabidiol or CBD and found that <b>CBD increases the immunity of cells to detect coronavirus genes and it self-destructs before replicating the virus<\/b>, which would prevent the virus from spreading.
